How this free Twitter (X) scheduler works
Draft a tweet (or a thread up to 25 connected posts), pick reply controls, attach a media placeholder, and choose a publish time and timezone. The character counter uses grapheme segmentation so emojis and zero-width joiners are measured the way X actually enforces them.
Nothing is published from this page — anonymous use stays anonymous. Sign in to Postmixr to push the same draft to X on your schedule.
X character limit (280) and counter accuracy
Each tweet on X allows up to 280 characters. Long-form Premium (X Premium) tweets are a separate API surface and are not covered here. The counter on this page goes red the moment you exceed 280 so you know to trim before scheduling.
- Reserve space for thread numbering (e.g. 2/12) inside the tweet text if you want manual labels.
- Use the thread mode toggle to chain up to 25 tweets — each gets its own counter.
- Reply control matches the conversation_controls field on the X v2 API.
Why schedule from Postmixr instead of the X website
X removed third-party scheduling for the free tier in past API changes. Postmixr uses the paid X API so scheduled tweets actually publish on time, plus you keep your tweet drafts, threads, and analytics in one place across every platform.
